Purpose
As you may know, when we read scripture God will reveal something new to us as we are prepared to hear it. I have since my own salvation written some of these Words down on various scraps of paper scattered throughout my home.
I though it would be nice to include different things God reveals to me during my readings here.
Should any of you wish to send me Words that God has spoken to you through scripture, I will be happy to include a reader submission section on this page.
Please keep in mind that anything included on this page are things God through His Word is teaching me. They do not necessary apply to you or have meaning to the world in general.
God's Words to me through His Book
Numbers 11:4-5;20
4Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: "Who will give us meat to eat? 5"We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic;
20"but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have despised the Lord who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, "Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?"
I had always wondered why God became angry with Israel when they cried out that they didn't have enough food to eat or water to drink. However upon reading this again, I see that God was not angry because they wanted something else to eat, rather because they longed for the life they had in Egypt.
I was saved as an adult and lived a worldly life prior to my salvation. I have to wonder about those times when I looked back at something and remembered the "fun" I had. While I have no desire to turn back to the life I once lived, occasionally, a twinge of desire for some particular activity will surface. Do I look to God when my Egypt comes to remembrance? Or what about looking at my marriage and thinking before I accepted Christ, it was so much easier. Now my relationship with God comes between us.
I pray that the Lord will take all of my Egypt's out of my heart, and that I will be grateful for the time He leads me through the wilderness in order to do that!

Exodus 16: 5-7
5"And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily." 6 Then Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, "At evening you shall know that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt. 7 "And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord; .
In the scripture, Moses is telling the people how they are to gather in the manna, the bread that God provided for Israel in the desert. For five days they are to gather just enough for their family for the day, on the sixth day they are to gather enough for that day and the seventh day of rest.
As I read this, I wonder if this is somehow prophetic. I am in no way shape or form a prophet but it struck me as reading this that there may be implications to the second coming of the Lord here.
There are more people in the world today than there ever was before, likewise more people are coming to Christ then ever before. Could this be the sixth day when twice as much/many is/are gathered???
Then it goes on to say that in the evening you shall know the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt, could this be prophetic of the Lord taking us out of this world???
In the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord...This is the morning of the seventh day. Could this be a clue to the return of Christ.
enesis 26:19-22
19 Also Isaac's servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there. 20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen, saying, "The water is ours." So he called the name of the well Esek, because they quarreled with him. 21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name Sitnah. 22 Ane he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, "For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land."
As I read this section of Genesis 26 it occured to me by the grace of God that as we go through life we try something and we fail, we try again and we fail, yet if we continue to try there will come a time when what we do will be blessed by God. God is continually moving us through our errors to the path that he desires for us.
I think to the times when I turned away from doing something because I didn't know if it was the will of God. Yet we see Isaac not questioning himself rather he moves forward. He knew he was in the will of God after he dug the third well and God blessed him by giving him peace.
So often in life I myself look for God's direction before I make a move and if I don't get a clear answer I might not make any move. Why? Don't I trust the Lord enough to see me through the failures as well as the successes? Don't I trust God enought to make it clear to me when I've got it right?
Genesis 10:25
To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
I was just amazed as I read this. God allowed me to see that it was during the time of Peleg that the continents broke apart. I had always wondered about continental drift and did not realize that God Himself tells us about it.
