Purpose
The purpose of this page is to help other in their understanding of the Word of God. It is my prayer that any who read these studies do so while checking to see is what I have found is consistent with the truth. Since I am by no means perfect or have a perfect understanding of all God has shared with us through His Word, I ask that you might share what God is showing you through your studies.
It is also my prayer that God would give me wisdom so that I would never lead others astray by placing my own prejudices into these studies rather that I would let His Word speak for itself. Amen.
Introduction to the Salvation Study
I have been going through the new testament trying to pull out all the verses that explain how we are saved. I did this for the simple reason that there are so many ways that people claim you must be saved.
There are those that feel you are saved if you lead a good life. There are those that say you must accept Jesus and follow the commandments of the Old Testament. There are those who say you must accept Jesus and be baptized. There are those who say you are baptized into the church (hopefully from birth) and that membership saves you. There are those who say that you must speak in tongues. There are those who say you must place your faith in Jesus and do nothing else. There are those who say if you say a special prayer you are saved. On and on the list goes.
It is my belief that there is only one way to be saved, and there is only one truth. In today’s world of tolerance and my truth may not be your truth, this may seem harsh or harsh or critical of other's beliefs. However, I say it again, there is only ONE way to be saved and that is by believing in and accepting Jesus Christ as your own personal savior. There is no other truth.
I am still in the process of reading through the New Testament for information regarding salvation. However, this is a slow process since I am trying to take great care in doing this study because of it's great importance to everyone. I have started this page in the mean time because while doing this study, I have not been adding to my Bible Reading page and didn't want you to think I had abandoned the cause of Jesus.
For the moment I will start listing the Scripture that pertains to a person's Salvation. Once that is complete, I will then move on to organizing this information into a clear picture that makes His truth clear. After this is complete I will then go through the New Testament again to be sure I haven't missed any verses (as sometimes I get caught up in what I'm reading and may forget to jot down an important reference).
From there I will move back into the Old Testament and repeat the process there.
